(via INDYCAR.com) – Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports drivers James Hinchcliffe and Marcus Ericsson represented the NTT IndyCar Series in fine style at NHL All-Star Game festivities in San Jose, California.
The teammates held an autograph signing during the weekend at the SAP Center, site of the event. An INDYCAR show car was on hand for the second straight year at NHL All-Star weekend, helping promote the racing series and the 2019 season finale, the Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey, at nearby WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on Sept. 22.
Hinchcliffe, an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan, attended the Skills Competition on Friday night and the series of all-star games on Saturday that concluded with the Metropolitan All-Stars winning the three-on-three competition finale.
Hinchcliffe also made the rounds with media covering the weekend. His stops included a visit to the set of “NHL Tonight” on the NHL Network and an appearance on “P.K. Subban’s All-Star Special” airing on NBCSN. The NBC Sports Group is the exclusive media rights holder for INDYCAR broadcasts in the United States beginning in 2019.
“I had an absolute blast at the Honda NHL All-Star weekend,” Hinchcliffe said. “I always love seeing top-tier athletes do their thing on the biggest stage. The Skills Competition was so cool to watch and get an appreciation for what these guys (and girls!) do, the fan fair had so many fun and interactive things to do, and the Honda All-Star Game itself was really entertaining.
“Sadly, the Atlantic Division didn’t come out on top like I was hoping, but at least we can call Sydney Crosby a Honda driver now, since he won the Honda Passport for being MVP!”
