As a team partner, Petro-Canada Lubricants (PCLI) is collaborating with IndyCar Series team Schmidt Peterson Motorsports (SPM) to enhance the performance of the team’s Honda-powered Indy cars.
Working with SPM’s engineers, the PCLI Research and Development (R & D) team has carried out specialized testing and developed customized products currently implemented in the team cars being driven by veteran IndyCar Series driver, James Hinchcliffe, and soon-to-be 2019 season series rookie, Marcus Ericsson.
“The partnership between PCLI and SPM is a natural fit because PCLI is an engineering driven company just like SPM,” said Todd Malloy, Technical Director at Schmidt Peterson Motorsports. “By using expert analysis supported with PCLI’s insight, fantastic laboratories and blending facilities, we can measure how the lubricants are performing – and enhance them for that tiny edge over our competitors.”
In February 2018, PCLI announced a multi-year extensionto its partnership agreement with SPM, including increased alignment with SPM’s veteran driver and Ontario, Canada native, James Hinchcliffe.
